The role of Queensland Purchasing is to secure savings and benefits that support the social, economic and environmental development of the state through strategic procurement.   Strategies include:

• Develop and maintain a whole-of-government policy framework for efficient and effective procurement practice;
• Provide procurement training and certification services;
• Provide expert advice and high level procurement support services to agencies seeking to develop their procurement systems, practices and skills;
• Provide professional procurement and disposal services which add value to client activities;
• Manage whole-of-government procurement arrangements.
