| Function: Improving Standards, Equity and Confidence in the Building Industry. The Queensland Building Services Authority (BSA) was established in 1992 to regulate the state's multi-billion dollar residential construction industry. Besides licensing builders and trade contractors, BSA exists to provide consumers with support, advice and protection in the form of a statutory insurance scheme which covers home-owners, upwards to $400,000, in the event of non-completion, defective work or subsidence problems. BSA's four key program areas are Licensing, Dispute Management, Insurance and Consumer Advice. | ||||||
