The role of the Queensland Ombudsman, as detailed in the Ombudsman Act 2001, is:
- to investigate and review the fairness and legality of administrative actions and decisions taken by State Government departments, local governments (councils) and other public agencies; and
- to improve the quality of decision-making and administrative practices of agencies.
