CRIME AND MISCONDUCT COMMISSION

The Crime and Misconduct Commission is an independent body which acts under authority of the Crime and Misconduct Act 2001.  The CMC was formed on 1 January 2002 with the merger of the Criminal Justice Commission and the Queensland Crime Commission.  It works to:

• combat and reduce the incidence of major crime in Queensland;
• improve the integrity of the Queensland public sector; and
• reduce the incidence of misconduct in the Queensland public sector.
