The Commission is responsible for conducting Parliamentary elections, industrial and related elections, referendums, electoral redistributions, information programs on electoral matters, research into electoral and related matters, providing information and advice to all areas of government, assisting in the maintenance and monitoring of the accuracy of the Commonwealth/State joint electoral roll, administering the funding and disclosure provisions of the Act, registering of political parties and the review of local government boundaries.
